1) Coil Weight
Given outer diameter (OD), inner diameter (ID) and width (W), estimate coil weight in pounds.
Formula: W = ρ × (π/4) × (OD² − ID²) × Width
2) Coil Weight Per Circle (one wrap)
Given diameter (D), thickness/gauge (t), and width (W), estimate the weight per wrap.
Formula: W = ρ × (π × D) × (t × W)
3) Maximum Coil OD
Given ID, width and total weight, compute the maximum OD. Also shows PIW.
Formula: OD = √[ ID² + 4 × Weight / (π ρ W) ]
4) Flat Sheet Weight
Given thickness, width and length, estimate sheet weight. Enter length in inches, or in feet and we’ll convert.
Formula: W = ρ × t × W × Lin (where Lin = 12 × Lft)
5) Coil Lineal Feet
Given thickness, width and total weight, estimate feet of material.
Formula: Feet = Weight / (12 × ρ × t × W)
6) Coil Feet → Weight
Given thickness, width and feet, estimate total weight.
Formula: Weight = 12 × ρ × t × W × F
Notes: Inputs are Imperial (inches, feet, pounds). Calculations assume ideal geometry and constant density. Consider tolerances and scrap for quoting.
